Dear Valued Clients,
As we continue to hear more about the presence of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the San Francisco Bay Area, we share the concerns of its potential impact on our clients, their families, the broader community, and of course our dedicated staff. We feel it is important to communicate honestly and keep you updated on the decisions we’re making to look out for the wellbeing of our clients and our staff.
To our knowledge, there has not been a case of COVID-19 with any of our clients or staff. Our immediate risk remains low, however, we are taking very seriously our role in the community and therefore the need for EDC to make informed decisions around COVID-19. Our team continues to communicate regularly to share updated information and discuss changes that will best protect our community. We have been preparing for a variety of contingencies and are ensuring we have the correct protocol in place as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the United States Department of State, and the San Francisco Department of Health.
The frequent and additional sanitizing procedures outlined by the CDC are already underway. We will do our best to stay on top of this quickly evolving situation and to communicate with you as conditions change. We encourage you to check back on our website for updates.
At this point in time, there will be no interruption in our services. EDC remains available to tenants in need of rental assistance, referrals to eviction defense attorneys, and emergency eviction defense services. Now, more than ever, it is imperative that people can remain in their homes and off the streets. We are fully committed to mitigating the risk of exposure to and transmission of the virus in our office, taking care of one another, and making decisions with you in mind.
Together we can navigate this difficult and uncertain period.
In community,
Martina I. Cucullu Lim
Executive Director
